Update: Haemophilus influenzae Type b Vaccine

On December 22, 1988, the Food and Drug Administration licensed an additional Haemophilus b Conjugate Vaccine for routine use in children greater than or equal to18 months of age. The manufacturer is expected to begin distribution of the Haemophilus b Conjugate Vaccine (Diphtheria CRM197 Protein Conjugate) within a few weeks. Recommendations of the Immunization Practices Advisory Committee for the use of Haemophilus b Conjugate Vaccine (Diphtheria Toxoid Conjugate) (1) are applicable to the new conjugate vaccine.
