Notices to Readers American College of Epidemiology Annual MeetingThe annual meeting of the American College of Epidemiology (ACE) will be held November 7-8, 1991, at CDC; the theme is "Morbidity/Mortality Gap: Is It Race or Racism?". The agenda will focus on disparities in health status between minority and nonminority populations as they relate to infant mortality, low birth weight, heart disease, stroke, cancer, injuries, cirrhosis, diabetes, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, and sexually transmitted diseases. Other topics will include access to prevention and treatment, costs and other implications for society, prevention and intervention strategies, effects of community empowerment, and promotion of public health careers among minority students.
