Notice to Readers: Satellite Broadcast on ImmunizationImmunization Update 2003, a live satellite broadcast and webcast, will be presented on August 21 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and rebroadcast from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Both broadcasts will feature a live question-and-answer session in which participants can interact with the course instructors through toll-free telephone lines. Both broadcasts will have a webcast and also will be available for viewing after August 21 at http://www.phppo.cdc.gov/PHTN/webcast/imm-up2003. The program will provide up-to-date information on the field of immunization. Anticipated topics include influenza vaccine, including recommendations for the use of the new live attenuated intranasal vaccine; pneumococcal conjugate vaccine; hepatitis B vaccine; recommendations for the use of new pediatric combination vaccines; an update on the smallpox vaccination program, including recommendations for the use of smallpox vaccine for the prevention of monkeypox; and an update on global poliomyelitis eradication. The broadcast is designed for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, Department of Defense paraprofessionals, pharmacists, and their colleagues who either administer vaccinations or set policy for their offices, clinics, or communicable disease or infection-control programs. Continuing education credit will be offered for several professions based on 2.5 hours of instruction. Continuing Education credit will be available only through the CDC/ATSDR Training and Continuing Education Online System at http://www.phppo.cdc.gov/phtnonline. Participants must use the online system to register and receive continuing education credits. Information about registration is available by telephone, 800-418-7246.
