Notice to Readers: Epidemiology in Action Course --- October 23--November 3, 2006The Rollins School of Public Health's Hubert Department of Global Health and CDC's Office of Workforce and Career Development will cosponsor a course, Epidemiology in Action, October 23--November 3, 2006, at the Emory University campus in Atlanta, Georgia. The course is designed for state and local public health workers. The course emphasizes the practical application of epidemiology to public health problems and will consist of lectures, workshops, classroom exercises (including actual epidemiologic problems), and roundtable discussions. Topics include descriptive epidemiology and biostatistics, analytic epidemiology, epidemic investigations, public health surveillance, surveys and sampling, Epi Info (Windows version) training, and discussions of selected prevalent diseases. Tuition is charged.
